The Federal government through the Growing Regions Round 2 program has provided the Shire with $13.4 million that will be used to replace the Wyndham Community Boat Launching Facility to make it safer and more accessible for users, and to improve amenities and enhance liveability and recreational opportunities.

    Discussions have commenced with the State government, represented by Main Roads WA, regarding the Grant Agreement for the Wyndham Community Boat Launching Facility.

    The Shire expects to finalise and sign the agreement in early May 2025, which will mark the official commencement of the project.

    A community reference group will be established to help determine the scope of works which best suit the community, as the project is about improving the whole precinct.

    When complete, the facility will provide improved access to the water for community members and visitors alike, supporting recreation and tourism in our region.

    The Shire of Wyndham East Kimberley has been successful in its Growing Regions Round 2 application and is awaiting a Grant Agreement from the State government.

    Funding has been received via the Recreational Boating Facilities Scheme Round 28 and will be incorporated into the broader project and grant, helping to deliver key outcomes for our community.
