Planning and design work for the Kununurra Leisure Centre (KLC) Upgrade continues to progress, with a strong focus on ensuring pool operations can continue safely and efficiently during construction.

The project team is now working closely with a range of specialist consultants who are helping to develop detailed plans for key aspects of the upgrade, including essential services, structural and civil works, landscaping, accessibility improvements, and acoustic design.

The Shire is also seeking to appoint a construction partner to work collaboratively with the project team during the next stage of planning. This approach will help refine the project scope, confirm costs, assess existing site conditions, and develop the most effective and practical construction plan.

This collaborative planning phase is designed to ensure the project delivers the best possible outcome for the community while minimising risks and disruptions. Subject to Council approval, construction will proceed following completion of this planning and design work.
