Project Remains on Track as Key Construction Milestones Achieved

24 June 2026

Work on the Wyndham Boat Launching Facility continues to progress well, with the project remaining on schedule against the approved program.

Recent activities have focused on site establishment, completion of key piling works, removal of sections of the existing facility, and preparation for upcoming stages of construction.

Off site, production of precast concrete elements is underway, while fabrication of the new pontoons continues. The precast concrete mattresses that will support the pontoons have been delivered to site, and the first batch of precast boat ramp panels has been completed.

On site, crews have installed the first two piles, removed the existing pontoons and associated piles, cleared sections of the boat ramp area, and continued site preparation works. Construction materials and equipment continue to be mobilised as required to support project delivery.

Over the coming period, works will focus on load testing, delivery of additional precast components, ongoing pile preparation activities, and commencement of works within the northern lane and central section of the boat ramp.

Fun fact: Due to Wyndham’s large tidal range, only two of the eight piles can be driven from land. The remaining six need to be installed from the water using a crane mounted on a barge.
