Work on the design of the new community facility is progressing well, with the Shire continuing to work closely with the project architect to maximise the benefits delivered within the available budget. This includes exploring opportunities to incorporate additional functions, such as the Shire Office, into the first stage of the project.

As part of the design process, planning is also underway for dedicated youth spaces and an all-abilities playground. These elements have strong potential to attract Lotterywest funding, and concept designs and cost estimates are being prepared to support future funding applications.

The design phase is expected to be completed in early 2027. Subject to funding and approvals, construction of Stage 1 is anticipated to be completed by late 2028, delivering improved facilities and new opportunities for the community to connect, play and participate.
